Sara Keely McGuire
Sara Keely McGuire is a Founding Member
of the Camenae Ensemble Theatre Company and is very proud of it! Sara
wrote her first lines of poetic dialog at the age of three when she
turned to her mother and said, "look mommy the flowers are dancing,
the wind is singing." It's been a long journey from there to the stage
wearing every imaginable for the last 12 years or so. The hats she
think fit best are writer, director and actor - in that order though
she has been known to throw down some paint every once in a while.
Sara has recently served on the board of Stockyards Theatre Project
and will soon trade that for the Women's Theatre Alliance while trying
to remain a superwoman in her day job as a Database manager/grant
writer/publication designer (there go the multiple hats again) using
both sides of her brain every day. Sara's play Triple Goddess was the
first full production of the Camenae, and that fact makes her very
happy. Other plays recently seen or heard about town include Hotel
California, Voltage Saturation, and Change. She hopes to add to the
list soon. As a director you might have seen the Adventures of Lizzy
and Rilla for Stockyards, The Tragical History of Doctor Faustus for
Camenae, and looking forward to revisiting Marlowe with Dido Queen in
2006. If you caught Sara as Ophelia for the Camenae, she will love you
forever, but she was last seen in Caffeine Theatre's production of
Silva as an actor/acorn. Sara wishes the spirit of Camenae to
everyone, and that (according to Sara when she waxes poetic and uses
sweeping hand gestures) is to unite through art the various
disciplines of the modern humanities and to explore spirit, self, and
the obscure.
